12:30 until 4:00 pm

at Oakland Plantation

Thanks to everyone who attended the 3rd Annual RACE & ROAST! Race results have been posted here. We hope to have the photos online shortly.

The 5K Trail Run will begin at 12:30 pm and wind through the 132-acre forest at Oakland Plantation, one of the local treasures that we have protected via a Conservation Easement. The run is predominantly on hard packed dirt trails or road, winds through the preserved forest and finishes on the avenue of oaks lining the main drive of this seldom seen historic plantation. Walkers are also welcome. Strollers are not recommended due to the terrain but are allowed if they remain with the walkers. Awards will be given out during the oyster roast. Registration includes admission to the oyster roast, a race t-shirt, and a commemorative event pint glass (adult participants only).

The Oyster Roast is from 1-4 pm on the picturesque lawn of the plantation house. Enjoy all-you-can-eat local oysters, hot dogs, meat and veggie chili, and coleslaw. Soft drinks and water available to all participants. Those 21 and older will enjoy complimentary wine and Palmetto Brewing beers, including a commemorative event pint glass. Live Music will be provided by The Green Levels. The kids will enjoy an inflatable slide, jump castle, wagon rides, and face painting. Children 10 & under get into the oyster roast for free.
